How can I get involved with the FortZED Community Energy Challenge?
We were hoping you'd ask that! There are a number of different ways that you can contribute to the FortZED Challenge.
- Find which pack you run with, take the Pledge and implement the actions on your checklist! *Note: you don't have to live in the district to take the pledge and get involved, residents in the greater Fort Collins area are encouraged to participate as well*
- Volunteer as a FortZED Ranger; be a resource to your pack members and help them to implement their checklists.
- Volunteer was a Wagneer; help develop our community website FortZEDChallenge.com and learn how to use Wagn, an Open Source Software Program. learn more

- Check out our latest internship opportunities

What is FortZED?
FortZED is a community initiative to transform Fort Collins' UniverCity area into a Net Zero Energy User. A zero energy district is about using less energy and producing and managing our energy differently. How does the Community Energy Challenge contribute to FortZED?
In order to create a zero-energy district we need to reduce the demand for energy. Engaging in energy saving practices at home will help to reduce demand.
What is the Energy Action Planner on the Recharge Colorado website?
The Energy Action Planner is your one-stop tool for information on how best to improve your energy efficiency and save money in the process. The Governor's Energy Office (GEO) has collected the most comprehensive resource of energy-related rebates and incentives available anywhere; in addition to Recharge Colorado rebates, use this site to find federal and local incentives as well as offers from manufacturers and retailers. The Recharge Colorado Energy Action Planner offers a range of tools to help energy consumers from throughout the state to save money and reduce our impact on the environment through energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions. My Action Plan allows you to save any of your selected rebates and incentives, contractors, and energy saving actions. To use My Action Plan you will need to register for a user account on this site.
